Martin Riecken brings more than 30 years of international crisis communications experience to GoCrisis. His work across the energy, aviation, tourism, hospitality, and transportation sectors has earned him a reputation for guiding organizations through difficult moments with professionalism, empathy, and clear direction.
His career began after completing studies in mass communications, economics, and politics. Martin first joined E.ON SE, then moved to Deutsche Lufthansa, where he held senior roles in Germany, the Americas, and Europe. From 2015 to 2025, Martin led Crisis Communications for TUI, one of the world’s largest tourism companies. During this time, he played a key role in shaping responses to significant events such as the 2019 Boeing 737 Max grounding, and the COVID-19 pandemic. These experiences strengthened his thoughtful and steady approach to supporting both organizations and the people impacted by crisis.GoCrisis feels privileged to have Martin as a Senior Associate of the Communications Team. His real-world experience provides our clients with best practice guidance in all aspects of their communications planning.
